BrauXp delivered a series of BRAUMAT trainings for a small group here at the Brewery. The time that we spent with the instructor was incredibly well spent, as we started with a novice level understanding of computer programming and left capable of writing code to automate parts of the brewhouse.

In the class, the instructor was incredibly patient with our team, whether it was with our level of understanding, our need to occasionally leave class for other work-related issues, the hours we were available for training, and even our priorities on what we wanted to get out of the time together. In all ways, he accommodated to what we needed. Though we were novices, he spoke at a level that we could understand while simultaneously defining language to push us to understand at a higher level.

The course curriculum was very comprehensive, yet somehow felt tailor written to what we needed to understand. Each section built on the day before, and each day we could see progress towards our goal. As someone who was already interacting with the system regularly, we more than met my goal of being able to understand what was happening behind the scenes when I write a recipe.

I was particularly impressed with the instructor’s teaching style. Because the class was small, he made sure that each of us was keeping up and able to follow along. Naturally 3 students will learn at different paces, but he went to each of our workstations and looked for where we were getting stuck and helped us progress
– without spoon feeding us the information. The instructor is an incredibly personable individual, and so while I may have at times found the material dry, the day passed by quickly as he would keep the material light while maintaining the utmost professionalism.

Perhaps the strongest reason that I would recommend the instructor’s classes was that I had every confidence that his programming style is the most methodical, logical, and efficient. When he showed us how to organize code, he explained how he does it and why. I could tell from how he taught us that the code he writes is far superior to what we have in our existing system.
